Ren Weiyin China's Master Post-Impressionist
Ren Weiyin China's Master Post-Impressionist

Welcome to Ren Weiyin Art, the official website for Ren Weiyin, China's master Post-Impressionist whose studio was forcibly closed in 1961 and who, with his family, was sent to a forced labor camp and later made to repair shoes 6 days a week for 17 years.  Forbidden to teach, exhibit or sell his work, Ren nonetheless kept painting at every opportunity.  Ren and his family were designated "enemies of the people" until 1978, when they were finally considered "rehabilitated."  A great artist and an incredible story of an unbreakable will to create -- and the triumph of art over ideology.
